Stanley "Tookie" Williams was executed this morning by the State of California. On the one hand, I understand this as a punishment for his four homicides. At the same time, I can not help but think that when he was sentenced to death, none of his jury was an African-American. It kind of makes me wonder if they really did have a lot of evidence.
I don't subscribe to the notion that the death penalty is a deterrent. I subscribe to the notion that it is a punishment.

the problem with tookie williams is he never admitted to this crimes and was never remorseful.. some people in california sd tht arnold wld have granted hm clemency if he did.. but we really dnt knw that.
